Spinnings and a cat bed.

blankyRemember that giant piece of felt I made? It makes a great cat bed.

As far as knitting and stuff goes I’ve got quite a bit done this week.  I would have updated on Wednesday like I said I would but homework and other junk caught up with me.  I actually took some time out of working on my afgahn to weave it some of those nasty ends!  I figured I should start now so I wouldn’t have 200 ends when I was sick of it at the end.  ;)

Oh!  I’ve also started spinning up that merino/tencel blend that I bought from Cavyshops a month or so ago.  It’s shiny.  I like shiny.  Colors are gorgeous.  what you don’t see in the picture is the layer of blue underneith the green.  :)

Giant Piece of Felt.

giant pice of felt...

Hey look!  An FO!  haha.  Mission complete.  The giant square batt was dumped in the bath tub with soap and agitated.  It turned in to a gigantic piece of felt that I let dry and cut into a “square-ish” shape.  I say square-ish because the giant piece of felt was a bit wavy when it came out of the bathtub and being wavy it was a bit hard to cut.  But who am I kidding, I can’t cut a straight line anyways.  ;-)  Now I have a nice sized lapgahn or just a big piece of felt to squeeze.

Stupid Batt.

Apparently the batt didn’t want to be spun.  I was assured when I bought it that it could be spun.  Apparently they don’t know very much about spinning.  If I would have picked out all the bad little bits, I would have only had about half the batt left.  So I took the batt… dumped it in the bath tub with hot water and soap… squished it around a lot… and now it’s hanging outside to dry.  When it’s dry I’ll cut off the ends and make it a little more square and I’ll have myself a lap afgahn.  :-)  Instant FO.
